HOW WE WORK

What happens after you email us.

No auction, no banker, no sixty-page teaser. The main reason founders never get in touch is not knowing what they are starting, so here it is in full.

The process, end to end

Six steps. Most conversations end at step two, and that is a good outcome for both of us. A quick no costs you nothing but an hour.

1. You get in touch

A few lines is enough. Gerry reads every inquiry himself and comes back within 48 hours, including the ones where the answer is no.

2. A call, about forty-five minutes

What you have built, what you want, and whether we are the right people. We can often tell you on this call that we are not.

3. A straight answer inside two weeks

Either a range and a structure, or a no with the reason behind it. We do not leave people hanging while we think about it.

4. Diligence and close

Typically sixty to ninety days from agreed terms, depending on the state of your books. Cleaner books mean a faster close and usually a better price.

OUR CRITERIA

What we buy

Dietary supplements, functional foods, natural CPG and wellness brands, doing between $1M and $15M a year. Full exits, founder recapitalizations, and distressed or turnaround purchases. The capital is our own, and for a deal that needs more than we are putting in ourselves we have relationships we can bring to it.

When we're not right for you

Worth saying plainly, because it saves everyone time. If you are in one of these situations we will tell you on the first call rather than string it out.

Pre-revenue, or under $1M

Too early for us to be useful. You need customers and a repeatable sale before capital changes anything.

Over $15M

You should be talking to a bank, and you will do better with one. We would be the wrong buyer at that size.

Outside nutrition and wellness

Our whole advantage is category knowledge. Anywhere else we are just money, and money you can get on better terms elsewhere.

Running a competitive auction

We will not win it and we will not try. If a banker is running a process, we are not the right people to spend your time on.
